Why I started Grace Covers
I think the best word to describe my path to salvation is winding. I was raised in a Christian home, but like many I waivered in college. Then, I tried other ‘new age’ type schools of thought, looking for meaning in this world, or the next. It wasn’t until I joined my present church, Naperville Presbyterian, that I realized what a sinner I really was, and what an amazing Savior has been offered to us. I am so grateful to Jesus for dying for me on the cross, for saving me from my sins, and for finding me when I was a lost sheep.
I started this company, Grace Covers, because I wanted to bring Glory to God, and help others do the same. I knew I wanted to surround myself with Scripture; just live in the Truth of His word, and hoped that others would feel the same way. It took a while to land on scarves as the product I would focus on. Many of my Christian friends helped me along the way, and the Holy Spirit has guided me and sent those friends to help me. One friend, Chris McChristian, was very encouraging and helped me focus on scarves.
My First Scarf
She is in paradise now, having lost her battle with cancer, but the first scarf I designed bears her favorite verse. It is the Mercy scarf, with Lamentations 3:22-23 printed on it. (Insert link to Mercy Silk here) She loved that verse and I wanted to honor her memory and remember that God’s mercy is in fact “new every morning. Great is His faithfulness’’
Finding Suppliers, Choosing a Name
Finding suppliers that had the quality standards I desired also took some time. I am so happy with the look and quality of the scarves we have produced! It was well worth the struggles to find the right suppliers.
The name, Grace Covers, refers to the Grace that covers our sins when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I pray you enjoy these scarves and welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you have a story to tell, maybe about how a verse moved you, or a conversation started up with a stranger because of one of my products, I would love to hear about it.
As an act of tithing, gratitude and desire to further spread the word of Salvation, Grace Covers will donate 10 % of profits to Christian Charities, primarily those focusing on evangelism to women. As a new company (we’ve been in business for just over a year now) we are seeking suggestions on where to make those donations, and welcome your suggestions.
May God Bless You!
